.Neo
Lately the Neowin forums have been extremely slow for me. Plus I get these random "Server cannot be found" errors from Safari 2, while I know for a fact my ADSL2 connection is working perfectly. I don't experience any problems with other websites and applications such as Mail, Microsoft Messenger, iChat etc. I also get a beach ball from time to time. :/
Mike Frett
Yes, recently with Firefox it locks up every time I click something.
Fred Derf Veteran Posted August 1, 2007 Veteran Share Posted August 1, 2007 If you are browsing Neowin in several tabs at once then you may want to disable the autoupdating feature of the new recent post header. Just press the "Stop" link or minimize the header altogether using the +/- button.
kylejn
Sure does...according to Firefox, we can thank the new "latest forum activity" script for that +1 It stopped when I disabled the recent post header, though.

willdev
Locks up all the time for me :( OSX, Firefox 2.0.0.6 If i use Swift it works perfect, no lock ups.
Fred Derf Veteran Posted August 1, 2007 Veteran Share Posted August 1, 2007 Minimizing the recent forum posts header is a bit less drastic than reverting to Swift but to each his own. I'm sure they'll get the code tweaked. It seemed to be working better before they attempted some Opera-compatibility tweaks. Such is life, two steps forward and one step back. We try to do the best with limited resources. We will get there.

Marduk
I'm still getting the issues with the new Firefox 2.0.0.6 :( this is frustrating it NEVER happens on any other site and this site used to ALWAYS work perfect. Now I'm forced to type this in Opera.
BajiRav
Same issues with Firefox 2.0.0.6 Everytime I open neowin forums, it goes down. Immediate lock ups. And no spyware angle here. Using from OS X. Firefox on Windows is just fine.
curme
If you don't mind changing Neowin's skin, try IP.Board Pro. You miss some of the new bells and whistles, but all of the Neowin essential basics are there.

Mouldy Punk
A suggestion made by Fred Derf (here) seems to have fixed it for me. Just do a cache-refresh (Ctrl + F5)...since I've done that I haven't had any problems...touch wood.
kizzaaa
I can't reproduce this with Firefox 2.0.0.6 :/ I can. This is the most annoying bug since I've joined NW.

vincent
Recently, my browser (Firefox 2.0.0.4) has been locking up (acting really slow with 90% CPU usage) whenever I open any Neowin pages. The problem occurs even quicker when I open multiple tabs. I don't think the problem is with my machine because I can open 30+ tabs from any other site with out any slow down or problems. My system specs are obviously fast enough to handle Neowin and the same thing happens to me on my laptop. Is anyone else experiencing this problem? I noticed this happens on my XP box hereat work with IE7 and at home on Firefox on Ubuntu.
