Farchord
Yeah I also get the same thing
shakey
i was getting the script error also. thought maybe i had some spyware or something new on my computer causing it. I just switched to swift lite, so ill see if that helps or not. I usually use crtl+f5 to refresh the main page.

panicswitched
When loading forum posts on and off i get the Firefox window asking me if i want to stop or continue using a script (using too many resources/isnt responding) i notice when i tell it to stop the interactive "Latest Forum Activity" stops working on that thread any ideas? gdodson
Same here with Firefox 2.0.0.6, but it only happens once per Firefox session. Once I tell it to stop the script, I have no more problems and the latest forum activity box still works fine.
DomZ
Exactly same thing, 2.0.0.6. I've had it on my home linux box and my work windows box. Getting on my nerves to be honest.
Hell-In-A-Handbasket
it happens on my Mac as well, the issue is with the Live Forum Post script at the top of the threads,, when you stop the script, that part goes away
panicswitched
i guess the question is is this happening to people with just one thread open or multiple tabs?
Hell-In-A-Handbasket
both, happens with single tab, or multiple
Symphony
I can confirm this. It is since the "Latest Forum Activity" box on the top. It is annoying as hell. The script hangs with both Firefox 2.0.0.5 and 2.0.0.6 on both PC and Mac. If I click continue, than the whole browser hangs and i have to kill the proccess. Please fix it or at least give an option to disable that damned box at the top.
Nikv
Happens with me too.
Lt-DavidW
It happened to me as this thread was loading. Oh the irony!
jimbo11883
That's one horrible piece of AJAX scripting... jeez. Freezes firefox completely for me.
KitCh
Clearing my cookies and cache fixed this problem both on windows and ubuntu for me!
zeroday
Doing a ctrl + refresh seemed to have fixed it for me aswell :)
shockz
Please fix it or at least give an option to disable that damned box at the top. You can disable it.... instead of finding ways to completely disable functionality by using an adblock (btw... that post was removed)... just LOOK and see the minus button near the top. Problem solved. I have not experienced this script error. Be sure to clear your cache.
Symphony
Hey, that was rude shockz, i was working hard to find a fix, and only tried to help the others until this bug gets fixed :p :) Anyway, thanks for the tip. That '-' sign really helped (btw: my cache gets auto cleared everytime I quit firefox), but i think you agree, that it isn't quite obvious that that icon will hide those posts. I suggest putting it somewhere into that box, or at least somehow visually connected to it. Also note, that hiding the box won't fix the script. :pacifier: :p
]SK[
Same thing. Im not the greatest fan of IPB. I much prefer vB.

Keito
It's really annoying, because the feature is actually great, but with my computer locking up I need to disable it :(
Salgoth
Was having same issue .. .. disabled the new "quick links" up at the top and now everything is fine.
Dashel
I'm not sure if its related but I've run into a few issues with IE (high cpu usage etc) as well. It seems to be caused by the new latest forum activity section at the top.
Redmak Administrators Posted August 4, 2007 Administrators Share Posted August 4, 2007 I will remove the auto update function until I come up with something less resource intensive. It's an ipb module atm, I think that causes it to be a little slow. I wonder what's causing the problem though. My system (Pentium D 3.4GHz / 2Gb mem / Vista) never uses more than 20% of my cpu resources (and then only for a very short period when the update takes place)
