virgo89
Mozilla Firefox Search Field Error Sound If you?re like me and hate the sound that Firefox plays if the word you are searching for is not in the website then this is for you. This tutorial shows how to "disable" the sound, not delete it. If you feel like you need the sound back just repeat the process of the tutorial. 1) Open Firefox 2) Type "about:config" in the URL address box (without quotations) 3) In the Filter box type "sound" (without quotations) 4) Look for the Preference "ACCESSIBILITY.TYPEHEADFIND.ENABLESOUND" 5) Double click on that preference 6) The preference SHOULD be disabled 7) Restart Firefox By doing this, you have muted the sound that plays if the word you are searching is not found. Like I said before, to get the sound BACK just double click on the preference again and it will be changed to "True".
