Meshuggah
well, I just bought a PS3 from amazon.com (**** paying for tax)...and I'm buying a Samsung LNT5265 1080p TV as well, so I'm going to need a nice/cheap HDMI cable. No monster or anything...just want to know a great (preferably online) deal I can get for one. I'm thinking a 6ft cable, shouldn't need anything bigger really. Any ideas? Meshuggah
thanks for the links http://www.amazon.com/Hdmi-Feet-Super-Reso...7258&sr=1-2 I'm just wondering if I should pay a little more... this one is .92 cents and comes out to under 7 dollars after shipping. I've never used HDMI.
gigapixels Veteran Posted July 24, 2007 Veteran Share Posted July 24, 2007 :o Wow, 92?... That's awesome. I think I'm going to order one right now, even though I don't need it, but because it's so cheap.
betasp
I put ~40 and I work in IT. The reality is, I can live and work without a WAN link. My LAN link, on the other hand, I cannot.

Meshuggah
http://www.pccables.com/cgi-bin/orders6.cg....com&rcode= wondering if i should just go this route. I love this place (bought some DVI cables from them before and saves so much money). That 92 cents one wasn't RoHs certified, so I'm not sure. Nightz
i think a 6 foot cable would be the way to go. any cable should do, but if you want a longer cable, you'll need to get the higher quality ones. i've been getting cables from monoprice.com for a while now and they work perfectly with the ps3. here's the one i have...costs about $5: http://www.monoprice.com/products/product....at=2&style=

I'd be a bit worried about the quality of a 92 cent cable (I wouldn't trust the 5-10 dollar ones either, but I'm paranoid like that). People assume that just because it's a digital signal and cable that a low quality one can't hurt image quality. There are plenty of IQ problems that can arise from cheap dvi and hdmi cables. The most common seems to be white sparkles/artifacts.
Meshuggah
to both of you, what do you think of that last link I posted? These guys make really good cables and it's RoHs certified.

To tell you the truth, I'm not really sure. I've never actually bought an hdmi cable online. I know some people that work at best buy and so I just get the monster ones they have there with the discount. Maybe you kind find some info on good inexpensive cables here. Edge00
Just buy the cheapest cable you can find. HDMI carries a digital signal. The quality of the cable is irrelevant. With digital signals you either get the whole signal or you don't get it at all. Its not like an analog signal like component or s-video or composite where if the cable is crappy interference can mess up the quality of the picture it is carrying. EnzoFX
^^ yes, its digital, and i personally recommend monoprice, they have a solid reputation, and consistently tested as good as monster's overpriced stuff
sn00pie
Well I wouldn't really trust a 92cent cable, I bought a eBay one for about $13 shipped. :D
