AOL Helix

Ugh not this AOL crap.

I'd stick with 9.0 and 9.1, thanks.

For the majority, Helix is just OpenRide (dare I say, "OpenCrap") 2.0.

Is that basically a desktop widget? or just some program that allows you to have 6 things going on at once?

Doesn't look to bad tho (Y)

thx CodeRed! OpenRide 2.0 hahaha at first glance it looks interesting for those that want a completely integrated experience. My Grandfather still uses MSN Explorer. There is a market for some of this stuff.

Yeah my dad would still be using AOL 9.0 if I hadn't of taught him how to configure his wireless so he can use Firefox or IE...

For the majority, he doesn't have a clue what he's talking about.

Helix out performs the traditional AOL client, OpenRide and other softwares.

You're going to love Helix. It's not hard to get used to and it's an easy switch from 9.0. It takes AOL's popular features and includes them in with todays advanced ones. Helix is the only thing I use on Longhorn 2008 now. It works smoothly without any problems. All my web pages load perfectly and speed is excellent. For broadband users, I recommend turning off "Top Speed" in the Browsers General Settings. For me, it makes my browsing experience way faster.

Yes! None AOL users can use it. If you want to use all the features, you have to have an AOL email which is free and easy to set up :)Yes! Helix does use POP mail.

This seems like it would max out your cpu to 100% and go super slow. All that crap running in one application?

The funny thing is, I can run all this and have multiple sites open and more and still use less memory than IE and Firefox. Gotta give AOL props on that and this lovely product :)

You edited the post and deleted everything because they deleted you?

:ermm:

Yeah. Plus! What they said on the phone. I will not promote or advertise a company that deletes all my emails, contacts, favorites and everything and not even giving me a chance to back them up and move to anyother provider. To me that's wrong and I won't recommend anyone to them. Sorry!

I loved AOL's service and now I just hate them. I'll still use AOL.com for music and everything else, but trusting them with my personal stuff, NO WAY!
