The Ultimate Splinter Cell Thread

Recommended Posts

As for Splinter Cell, it's a good game and should be brought to all consoles. We brought MGS2 for you xbox users and you bring us Splinter Cell :D. PS2 might not be able to do some special effects but it's the gameplay that matters most of every game.

didnt know that you and sone were responsible for "giving" us the right to play MGS! wow ive really gotta thank you!

Splinter Cell has always been planned for all 3 consoles (it was shown on all 3 consoles @ E3 2002.) It would be nice if all the Xbox fanboys would give the PS2 & Cube some credit. We all know that the PS2 will most likely be graphically inferior, but the Cube version will most likey look very similar to the Xbox version. The Cube is capabile of quite a bit just look @ Metroid Prime, Zelda & Star Fox Adventures...

you'd think that..but the Cube always gets a poopty port of the others systems games. just look at Jedi Outcast compared to the Xbox version. and you're mentioning games from second party companies that FULLY optimize the game for a system. now we all know that games that are ports don't go through all that. they just get ported so don't expect much for Cell on the other systems. you've been warned lol.

I wouldn't say that every game ported to the Cube turns out crappy...Tony Hawk 4 looks fine and that game was planned for all 3 systems just like Splinter Cell. Honestly I could really care less about Splinter Cell b/c I played the PC demo and it is too slow moving for me. I can obviously tell that you are not a big fan of Nintendo since you seem to be putting them down all the time it seems...I'm not trying to start a flame war, I'm just stating something that I think is happeneing (doesn't mean I'm right tho.)

lol saying the Cube gets crap ports isn't putting Nintendo down. it's putting the companies that do the ports down. i never said the Cube wasn't a cute little powerful machine. i just don't prefer it.

and back to your original statement, yes the Cube can handle most of splinter cell and is capable of alot, but i know that most games taht are made for 1 system then ported to the others a few months later, instead of being made for all 3 at the same time are just crap ports. but sometimes you might get lucky, and a game (Turok 4 lol) that was designed for all 3 consoles looks like crap on all 3. but it sold the worst on the Cube, not N-bashing that was just the sales figures of it. don't know why it sold worse on Cube, but that's just the way it was with this one game. same thing with Mortal Kombat it sold the worst one Cube.

now you can't deny that video game companys only care about the bottom line and using common sense, if they see all these ports and multiplatform games are selling the worst on the Cube, why would they waste their time and money optimizing a game for the Cube (like Cell) that MIGHT sell the lowest # and actually might bomb. don't know whether Nintendo has to make them do a better job, whether the companies have to do better advertising or better ports, but that's just the way it is right now. for some reason only first party and second party games generally sell well on the Cube.

Ah ok, I see where you are coming from. Your original statement came across as a fanboy-type statement and was pretty vague. And you are DEFINETLY right about "Turok Evolution"...that game was COMLPLETE CRAP!!! If Splinter Cell sells well on the Xbox then it will probably sell pretty well on the Gamcube (and probably the PS2 as well- even with its graphical inferiority.) The game has gotten so much hype (and seemed to live up to it like Metroid Prime) that it will probably sell fine on the Gamecube and PS2.

its funny how we're seeing Xbox - Splinter Cell ads, without even a mention of PS2 nor GC on them.

That's b/c M$ has LIMITED exclusive rights to the game for a certain number of months...same thing happened when "Dead to Rights" was released, now it's on all 3 systems..."Dead to Rights" was a crappy game in my opinion tho...

That night vision looks nasty. Ubisoft said that the night vision is messed and it is. You'll have to wait until the final release to compare night vision because at the moment there's no contest, Xbox ****es on it.

Of course that's just night vision, PC ****es on it for regular gameplay graphics

To split-jump. In the first hallway with the prisoners - walk up to the section of the wall between the prison cells (you have to be standing right next to the wall. Press shift, then shift again, then shift again. Not very fast, time them at the top of your jumps. ;)

On my GF2 MX400 64MB, the Nightvision is a lot more greener than that MxxCon

exactly.

that's why i posted those screenshots.

in the other thread somebody posted screenshots that were much greener and people where complaining that they didn't look like on xbox.
