All search sites have "sponsored" results, but those are clearly shown in different sections (for Google it is in the highlighted section on the top, and the separate section on the right) then the normal search engine response. The sites that are listed at the top of the "non sponsored search" do not pay anything, but they are the sites Google thinks are the most revelant to your search. The red boxes in this screenshot are sponsored. They are the ones paying. The listings in the blue section are not sponsored. I hope that makes sense, I am not 100% sure if it does or not.
