Wyoming Man Charged With Wife's Sword Death

ROCK SPRINGS, Wyo. (AP) -- A man charged with murdering his wife said he accidentally impaled her on a sword and ''cut her up'' after she put food in his face, according to court papers.

Timothy Brandon, 27, has been charged with first-degree murder in the death of Dawnita Brandon, 32.

Brandon told police he had his wife argued when she came home from a bar where they had been drinking Sunday evening, according to a police statement. She got home after he did, he said.

He told officers that his wife pushed a plate of food in his face. He said he started handling a sword and was holding it when his wife turned a corner and impaled herself on it, the police statement said.

Brandon told officers he then raised the sword and struck her ''somewhere above the chest,'' according to the statement.

Brandon called a man who worked for him, Larry Watts, and said he had killed his wife and ''cut her up,'' Watts told police.

A bartender told police that she had served Timothy Brandon alcohol that evening and that she had heard him curse at his wife and tell her, ''I'll take care of you later.''

Brandon remained in custody Thursday; a judge set bail at $750,000. Brandon said he would like to find his own lawyer but was not sure he could.

Why would you start handling a sword in a closed environment, especially with food in your face. O.o

And how do you cut someone up by accident? "Oops, there goes an arm, sorry honey."
