TechyBootie
Hello all, new to the forum but I know it's got a good rep so I have faith someone on here will be able to help me. Basicly operas been giving me 2 major problems, I have tried the official premium support route but thats pretty much hopeless. The problems are; 1. Opera keeps crashing randomly. Just at the most random of times opera will crash with no error message or warning. Opera used to work fine when I was on version 9.20, I upgraded to a beta version using a program called File Hippo Update Checker, then the problems started, despite removing Opera and all its traces and reinstalling the stable release. 2. Opera voice doesn't work When I try to make Opera speak, it says its downloading the voice binaries, finishes, but doesnt speak even thought the option is enabled. A quick search on my computer shows vital speak plugins missing such as vxmplugin.dll. Im currently using; Windows Vista Ultimate Opera 9.22 Any help would be REALLY appreciated, after using Opera I really dont want to go back to IE. Thanks TechyBootie
TechyBootie
Hmm no replies, surprised at that but never mind, I figured it out should anyone else have a similar problem in the future, disable voice as thats what was causing the crashing. d3bruts1d
Im currently using;Windows Vista Ultimate Opera 9.22 Going out on a limb here and saying it's that combination that's your problem. The voice stuff was created by IMB, so who knows if they've updated it to work with VistaME. Voice works for me on XP no problem. ;)
