agt
Hi Sometimes our connection is speed-limited and images and other media take an age to download and can even just hang and do nothing. I want a way to just get the text, and not download images. Does such a thing exist? An extension/greasemonkey script that can block/show ALL images from a toolbar or status bar button? tmr250z
You can use either ImgLikeOpera or Web Developer extensions. Both include a toolbar button that you will have to add to your toolbar by right-clicking on your toolbar, select Customize... and drag their respective buttons to your toolbar. ImgLikeOpera allows you to decide rather you want to allow images to load from tabs or in windows or not at all. Web Developer add a toolbar button that will allow you to toggle it's own toolbar on and off. It's toolbar is where you can set it to block anything, including images to have an almost text browser if you want. Make sure your clear your cache so you won't load cached images. Hope this helps! :)
Salgoth
You do realize that going FF > Tools > Options > Content > and unchecking "Load Images Automatically" will do what you want? Also using Noscript extension and Adblock Plus extensions will also reduce the amount of fluff that tries to come through - thereby getting you to the core content much quicker. I've found that just block Flash elements via Noscript is a huge time-saver!

Just something else to think about.
