Apple couldn't have planned this better, what with my birthday on saturday :woot:

/prays for 60GB Touchscreen iPod at a reasonable price with WiFi

reasonable price?

...some people will never learn. if a new iPod comes out, it will be the same or a bit more than current iPods. You don't think Apple would cram in more technology AND lower the price, do you?

Where do you get that this is going to be held in Italy or something? How long has it been since an announcement was done from anywhere other than California for Apple? This event will happen at 10AM PST at the Moscone Center in San Fransisco.

And also, there's new rumors, in case it hasn't been posted yet, that iTunes 8 will be released today as well.

They have done this to pretty much every new iPod. Dropped the price and added a lot more. I got my 3G 20GB B/W iPod for ?300. I can get an 80GB colour, video, longer battery life and all the bells and whistles for less.

No, it's in California at the Moscone Center where they hold WWDC which means there will be quite a big announcement.

It's slated to start at 10AM PST or 1PM EST

For live event coverage

There is also last minute speculation that Leopard will be released today.

Yeah, would be awesome, but won't happen most likely. Most of the time there's a huge amount of test builds released to testers before the release and there hasn't been anything like what from what I've read.

Leopard won't be released today.

It won't be released until October, but we might get the final release date today. And if that happens, then doesn't that mean that all new Macs purchased between now and then get a free upgrade to Leopard?

1 hour.....ooooooo

In the year 2050, the US Supreme Court rules punishment of criminals, violates their civil rights.

Slander is only acceptable when it is against Christianity. Hate is only allowed against Catholics, Evangelicals and Republicans. Intolerance is only acceptable against the politically incorrect.

bwuh?

GMT is local time zone name for UTC, the event is due to begin at 17:00 UTC (GMT) but at 18:00 in the UK where the current time zone is UTC+1 (BST, WEST)

^^ that just sounds like a bunch or words strung together :D

I wonder how close the UI of the iPod will be to the iPhone UI?
