Foppah
I use ffx with bookmark toolbar.. Is it possible to enable "auto - Sort by Name" in a folder? I have some folders in non alphabetical order on the bookmark toolbar, but in the folders, I want the links to always to be "sort by name". primexx
I don't think there's an auto-sort-by-name function by you could right click in the folder and click sort by name every time you add something to it.
Foppah
Mmm but im bored to manually do it all the time!
Salgoth
Looked at this post yesterday - even searched the list of extensions thinking here had to be something that would do this...there isn't. Strange that such a simple item of functionality is left out.
Salgoth
Try this: http://forum.addonsmirror.net/index.php?sh...amp;hl=bookmark there's a bumped version near the bottom which should work with version 2.0 - 3.0 of FF.
Foppah
No off them work for me. Nothing happens.. :) I found out that it would be ok to have a extension that only sort links but no folders...
hackdoom
Oh man! I've naively sorted my bookmarks out by name. I liked the way they were arranged before. :o
solardog
This is my main complaint with FireFox. Why is it such a friggin hassle to organize bookmarks alphabetically? Example: Fully organized favorites in IE7-->export these favorites to Opera and favorites are exactly how they were in IE7-->export favorites to FireFox and it looks like they got stuck in Hurricane Katrina on their way to FireFox. Its always been like this too...why? It just seems like such a basic thing and really is a very important thing

Salgoth
Already tried it... Does not do the work. Strange . .. . for the version trigger_my_passion posted a link to, did you notice it added an item to both the Bookmarks and Tools areas? Under the Tools area is an entry leading to the configuration options for the extension. Under the Bookmarks is a simple "Sort Alphabetically" entry. After I set up the options when I went into Bookmarks and clicked "Sort Alphabetically" it did it - including bookmarks recursively in sub-folders. I've yet to check if it will auto-sort upon adding a new bookmark..... UPDATE: Nope. Doesn't auto-sort. Edited September 3, 2007 by Salgoth
