cerbero
It starts ok, but it doesn't seem to load a window manager.. Most probably due to the fact that I've had XDarwin installed before.. And also OroborOSX. Does anyone know what files I need to remove to get a clean X11 install? rm -rf'ed /usr/X11R6/ and /etc/X11/ before installing Apple X11. Are there any more dirs that need to be deleted?

iCe|
sorry to ask but what does this program do?
Tim Dorr Veteran Posted January 8, 2003 Veteran Share Posted January 8, 2003 sorry to ask but what does this program do? If you use it in conjuction with Fink (fink.sf.net), you can bring a LOT of linux apps over to the mac. they run with their windows interleaved with aqua. It's not emulation, its recompilation for another platform, so it's all native code and it's fast :) So, now all the linux apps out there can be added to the mac's 5000 :)
frod
they just need to make it come with a default window manager so you can actually do something with it ;P x == xwindows which is basically the gui side of any *nix flavor if you want it. apple finally decided to release their own apple-supported version of it. there were already non-apple ports of it.
