TurboTuna
I'm VERY new to bash, so im sure this is the most simple of problems. Heres what I'd like to do: run this command: "host website.com" sort through the gumph and leave myself with just the ipaddress it returns. I have no idea how to do it though, im sure it will only take one of the many linux gurus here seconds though ;) Thanks, Scott.
Miuku.
dig +short hostname In cases where there are more than one host + aliases this will return a multiline response.
TurboTuna
obviously replaceing hostname with the actual domain, i pasted that into putty, and it did nothing :/

TurboTuna
Guess I woke up on the wrong side of the bed this morning. I tried it again and it worked. Must have been a weird putty session or something. Thanks very much :)
