Guitarmike
I just installed Vista Ultimate onto a new Seagate 500gig hdd. I have my old 200gig Maxtor, (with Win XP), in an external enclosure so I can transfer files and photos, ect. I can't figure out how to get all my opera bookmarks and wand passwords to my new drive. I can see the old version in "programs files" on my old hdd, but I'm not sure what the files do in there. I've already installed Opera to the new drive, could I uninstall it and transfer the whole program from XP to Vista? Anyone have any idea?
halcyoncmdr
I can't remember exactly which files should be copied. But if you transfer the Application Data folder for Opera from your old drive to the new one, it should just pick up where it was before if the versions on Opera are the same. If you type %appdata% directly into the address bar in windows explorer you can go directly to the folder in both XP and Vista without worrying about the exact path... You could copy the program files folder, but it will only copy the program, not your data; the way all programs are supposed to work.
