Firefox wont load web pages.

Recommended Posts

I've searched these forums and can't seem to find an answer, but I've tried multiple routes.

I can't seem to get Firefox to load any webpages after trying to update to latest Firefox version.

I tried uninstalling, deleting the profiles (in ApplicationData, the complete folder), running a registry cleaner and then reinstalling Firefox. Nothing.

There's no extensions currently enabled, either.

No firewalls blocking either.

Just can't seem to figure this out. Any ideas?

Probably a firewall issue, even tho you say "no firewalls blocking either" (Some firewalls don't uninstall properly, a lot of firewalls don't stop blocking even when you quit them, because all you're really quitting is the user interface - the firewall service keeps running and keeps blocking, etc).

Anyway, take a read of http://kb.mozillazine.org/Error_loading_websites (in another browser ;)) which I hope will help you.

Thanks for the help guys. I've narrowd the problem down to be a vsmon.exe problem. I recently tried deleting ZoneAlarm and that pesky thing is staying around. I'm still murking around online for more information on how to get rid of it, but to pretty much no avail.

Anyone heard of anything?

Sure. The link I gave you has a title called Firewalls, which has a link that points to:

That article has some information on Zone Alarm not uninstalling properly, which links to:
