Fred Derf Veteran Posted October 20, 2007 Veteran Share Posted October 20, 2007 Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 6.0; en-US; rv:1.8.1.8) Gecko/20071008 Firefox/2.0.0.8 + Sun Java Platform Standard Edition 6: Version 1.6.0 (build 1.6.0_03-b05) Everything worked last week with FireFox 2.0.0.7 but, since the upgrade to FireFox 2.0.0.8, Java has not worked. I originally suspected that Yahoo Fantasy Sports was the problem but I just realized that everything still works on MSIE7. It was working immediately before the upgrade so I really should have been suspicious of the FireFox update but all previous updates have gone swimmingly. I'll just use Yahoo under MSIE7 until FireFox issues another update/fix.
Brian M. Veteran Posted October 20, 2007 Veteran Share Posted October 20, 2007 Tried reinstalling the JRE? I just tried and everything's working fine here on 2.0.0.8.
Fred Derf Veteran Posted October 20, 2007 Author Veteran Share Posted October 20, 2007 Tried reinstalling the JRE?I just tried and everything's working fine here on 2.0.0.8. I can't seem to do that. At least not with the online tools. I click the manual install button and I get to a download button that proceeds to try to use Java to test my installation. At that point it fails. I suppose I could uninstall and reinstall but it isn't really worth the bother right now. Inspite of the fact that it may seem to be a FireFox problem, I still blame Sun. night_stalker_z
You should get the offline installer for Java. I think this is a reported bug in Firefox.

This download doesn't work from within FireFox 2.0.0.8: http://www.java.com/en/download/index.jsp I suppose I could use MSIE7 to download it. I haven't tried that yet.
