Opera 9.50 Beta 1

Recommended Posts

Who really cares? As long as it is not using more than 512MB of RAM and 5% CPU when "IDLE" most of us here could really care less.

Anyways, Opera looks better and better every year or so. Anyone have a portable copy of this beta?

I just downgrade to 9.24....i had some strange bugs and slow downs, maybe its my configs.

And the fact i couldnt copy only the text out of a link was an annoyance to me.

Ill wait for the 9.5 final release.

Btw, Opera beat the hell out of FF. :hump:

Go Opera.

Gmail for example is wayy faster in Firefox for me, and then theres Google Maps, what a slowww painful experience that was trying it in this, and a handful of other sites that just didn't load right or some small problem that I've never had in Firefox.

that's odd since gmail/gmaps work fine here in opera. speedy and nice.

If the rendering engine vastly improves, I'd switch for good in a second tho.

opera's rendering is fine. it's just that it doesn't have as many users so some sites use browser sniffing which breaks stuff. if only they sent opera the same code as firefox it would have worked fine.

while that statement is completely retarded, opera's interface is "fatter" than firefox's

not really. it's about the same.

Opera makes very close to the same use of system resources that Firefox does when it comes to browsing.

try opening more than ten tabs... opera is definitely more resource friendly, which isn't strange considering that it needs to run on mobile phones as well.

You mean "more resource friendly" like "the number in the RAM column in task manager is smaller" or like actual resource usage?

I haven't yet seen a browser for a phone that has tabs.

I am fairly certain that Opera Mobile has tab support...
