BoDEAN
Every time my gf starts up her mac, she is plagued with a pop up message saying Norton Antivirus Error Norton Antivirus Autoprotect could not continue. Please reinstall and restart. How do I get rid of this junk? I took Norton off a long time ago.
dragon2611
Look in the system prefs > accounts (i think) see if theres something for it listed on things that start up Another one would be to search for anything with a reference to norton or symantec (SP?) and remove it otherwise look at your login scripts/startup scripts to see if its in there, I'm not entirely sure how to do it on a mac but bearing in mind its a unix system I suspect they exist somewhere.. CPressland
Do a search on Spotlight for Norton and see what you get :p It'll probably be something in the Library folder under Symantec or Norton

crazzyyfool
Use the Uninstaller that comes with Norton. Norton installs files all over the place on OSX and Windows.
CPressland
The uninstaller that comes with Norton AV has never ever worked on any operating system, it leaves all kinds of crap everywhere. Best advice, dont use Norton... ever, anytime, ever ever ever
