1, Downloads. How do I set it so when downloads finish, they are not automatically cleared from the download window?

2, When I type something in the address bar, its supposed to take me to the first result that google will pick up. but it takes me to some finderactive.com site, any way to change that back?

Tools > Options... > Privacy > Remember what I've downloaded

Sounds like there is some spyware installed on your computer.

Run a scan using a program such as Windows Defender or AdAware.

This should fix that

Double click the blank space, in the Tab Bar, or right click a tab and select New Tab.

This will open a new, blank Tab.

In the Address Bar, type; about:config

Click Enter.

Scroll down to, and double click, keyword.URL.

In the box that opens, enter what's in the Code box below: (you can copy and paste it)

http://www.google.com/search?btnI=I%27m+Feeling+Lucky&ie=UTF-8&oe=UTF-8&q=

Click OK.

This will restore the Google "I feel lucky" search.

Alternatively, you can set it to

http://www.google.com/search?&q=

This is the general Google search string.

Now any time you enter a word in the address bar and press Enter it will take you to a Google page showing you the results of the search for that term.

Also. Removal of this finderactive.com junk

get HostsXpert from here

Unzip HostsXpert.zip

Open HostsXpert.exe

Then click on "Restore Microsoft's Host File", followed by OK at the prompt.

Close the program when complete.

after that, disable System Restore, reboot and re-enable System Restore when you log back on.

This will clear the malware that may still be lurking in System Restore,

which could be reinstalled should you need to rollback at some point.

Additionally, a reboot may be required to complete the malware removal process.

Than run Spybot S&D

you should be cool after that.
