Remysaus
I think I'm getting close to the end, can you just keep doing sidequests after the main story is over?
Smigit
Finished it yesterday. @ Ianwoolan I won with the council dieing 1st and then redid it and got the ending you did. Neither ending is worse than the other. In one (yours) more humans die and you get invited to the council, in the alternative the council dies so humans become the council leaders. I havent played from there but neither seemed any less or more good really. There may be others besides that but they are the 2 obvious endings i saw. Being a nice guy i kept on with the one after saving the council As for the game, it's very very good. a few things a) I'd have liked the main quest to have taken you to more worlds. It seemed a bit rushed and not as Epic as I would have hoped for. With a war looming I'm sure they could have had the mission go on further as it wasnt feeling like a drag and I was itching for more. b) The Makro IMHO is horrible to control. Gimmie Halo's vehicles anyday. THat said, its bareable enough and I just hit things from a distance in it anyway. c) The loading is atrocious. In game as well as the frequent elevator sequences. It's not a spoiler but it would have been wonderful to see what effect having it steam off a hard disk would do to the load times. It really felt like I was inside an Oblivion city except they disguised the loading using elevators as opposed to load screens. That said, it didnt effect the gameplay which was a plus as combat was smooth, just in between the elevator travel got a bit hard to bare. d) a very small issue, but one two or three times in the 15 hr main quest I clipped into walls and got stuck and had to reload...one time while on the map platform in the ship seeing me ending up on the table of the ship. A bit of a pain. All in all but, a very engrossing game. It really deserved to have a longer more epic main quest as it lacked any really big confrontations. It feels like you meet the enemy for the 1st time at the 10+ hr mark but then your finished within 15 hours. Still, there looks to be alot of extra things to do and worlds to explore (although why a few more werent utilised by the main plot I don't know). Ohh and btw, it's still a good main quest, I think it's a testament to the quality that I wanted it to go on longer which isnt something I could say for GoW or Halo 3, which despite being great I was happy they ended when they did because I felt that too much more and they would have started to struggle to hold my attention as they had to that point. Def a must buy but and I'm glad, as it, Halo and GoW were the 3 games that really prompted me to get a 360 and all have been great.

shadowmatt
Hi Guys a couple of questions for those in the know. 1. I keep reaching the 150 item limit. Is this because of all the weapons upgrades. Is it ok to sell "upgrade IV" because I also have "upgrade V" without losing anything. 2. Its there any actual space combat in the game. I suspect not, but it seems strange in a space based game where im flying around in an experimental ship loaded with guns. Also i have found if stuck in a wall, use the crouch then stand up again, this always frees me Top game, got a feeling I should be more evil though, all the cool options in the speech menu are always grayed out

You can sell them at any shop. There is one on the Normandy and others at various worlds. 2) No there isn't any space combat in the game.
shadowmatt
Thought as much. Given that they seems to have build a very competent 3d engine i would have thought a bit of space combat would have been easy. Not like wing commander but more of a battleship style setup with 2 large ships firing all weapons and trying to move into position. If they had done that right I think the game would be near perfect.
randomnut
Ok so here's my big question. Is this game actually worth buying? Has it lived up to the hype? How long is the main story? I'm still undecided whether it's worth getting, there seems to be an even mix of good/average reviews.
shadowmatt
Yeah its worth it. Best game I have played in a while. My hint. If you want it to last for a long time do all the side quests before the main missions. So do 1 main mission then do all the side quests that open up in the Citadel Do another main mission next set of side quests etc... The side quests actually figure into the main story and also open up another story arc about past events. This also helps you get enough upgrades to the the main missions. 20+ hours play, 2 main missions completed, if you do things correctly I think this game could last for a long while
d3bruts1d
So here I am about to go into the last battle, currently lvl 43. Done every side-quests I could find. And I still don't have the Completionist achievement, and something tells me I missed out on Paramour also, since I can't flirt with Ashley anymore. I'm on Ilios (sp??) and at level 47. I'll be hard pressed to hit level 50, much less level 60. I couldn't flirt with Ash any more either, thankfully she wasn't the only one you could flirt with! alien mind sex OMG! Is this game actually worth buying? Has it lived up to the hype? How long is the main story? I'm still undecided whether it's worth getting, there seems to be an even mix of good/average reviews. Yes. Yes. Main story is fairly short, however there are a number of side quests that'll keep you buy for a long time.
forster
Im about a third of the way through my second play through, just so I can get a few more achievements. I didnt like this game at all when I first played it. I went back to it a couple of weeks later and finished the rest of the game in one sitting; along with a lot of the side quests. Im disappointed with the amount of glitching and bugs in this game, I think the autosave feature could have been a lot better. That being said, graphically its perfect and the gameplay is good, just not perfect like I was hoping for. It is interesting how you can choose different paths in this game, but I find myself only replaying now to get more achievements, not really to see how the story twists if I do things differently. I think if you factor in side quests, and listening to all the (brilliant btw) dialogue, and a second play through to get more achievements, about 40ish hours of play max. I do recommend people buy this game, if you rent it for a couple of days, I dont think you'll really be able to enjoy it (unless you sit up hardcore and play it every minute of course). Dirk
One of the only problems I had was the texture loading. It just started to get on my nerves so much.
McSmiggins
This is gonna sound like a wierd question, has anyone got a screenshot of the loading screen with the Normandy on it?@ where it flows from bright blue on the left to bright red on the right behind the ship? Thanks!
randomnut
One thing I was really looking forward to was the ability to inturrupt people, as shown off in that vid where he cuts off the alien mid sentence, and threatens him for more info. Did anyone get to do this in the game? So far i've seen nothing of the sort...

randomnut
Really? Most of the time I select what to say before the other person has finished speaking, and he still stands there and waits for them to finish....
Rookas
Really? Most of the time I select what to say before the other person has finished speaking, and he still stands there and waits for them to finish.... Gotcha, you gotta hit "X" to interrupt. X advances the conversation, if you've already picked what to say next then X will cut them off.

kingroach
Just got this game and confused over some issues: 1. I get points after finishing mission.. Can I only use them upgrade my abilities from Squad option or can I upgrade my squad member as well?.. if so then how.. I cant seem to find a way to give pooints to my squad members 2. How do I get trained?.. I am an infiltrator and can only use pistol efficiently.. My sniper is really shaky.. how can I train myself/ squad members.. 3. When I go to some planets and they have debris.. I cant seem to salvage the debris.. it says I dont have enough electronics.. I upgraded my electronix skills as much as possible and took the members with highest electronix skills.. still the same issue..

Remysaus
1. I get points after finishing mission.. Can I only use them upgrade my abilities from Squad option or can I upgrade my squad member as well?.. if so then how.. I cant seem to find a way to give pooints to my squad members press start during the game, select squad in the menu, here you can asign points you've earned to your main character, with the left and right trigger you can scroll to you teammates so you can asign points to them. Also, every character in your team gets the same amount of points as you do, so if you didn't play with one character the entire game and choose to take him on one of your last missions, you can upgrade him to the same skill as you are at that point. 2. How do I get trained?.. I am an infiltrator and can only use pistol efficiently.. My sniper is really shaky.. how can I train myself/ squad members.. not every class can train every weapon or power, you should look at what way you want to play and choose your class from there. squad members have their special abilities as well and they can be trained individually. 3. When I go to some planets and they have debris.. I cant seem to salvage the debris.. it says I dont have enough electronics.. I upgraded my electronix skills as much as possible and took the members with highest electronix skills.. still the same issue.. than it still isn't high enough, simple as that :p
