Your first ever game

Recommended Posts

I'm in my early 20s and I don't feel old by saying my first console was the atari (maybe got it too late comparing with the rest of the world? I don't care anyway).

No, I wasn't saying one had to be old in order to have had it, but being 21 I didn't start gaming until the NES came around. Perhaps it wasn't the best choice of words...

The game I remember playing was Al-Quadim on Windows 3.1. I love that game, but I lost the manual so I can't play it anymore... if anyone knows anything about the game or how to play it nowadays, please message me.

Another game I think I played if I remember correctly was Power Rangers on the Sega.

Sega Genesis, I got it when I was 5, I remember my mom showing me the console, because I was being a hell child and ****ed her off, and she said I wasn't going to get it now. On Christmas, I got it saying "From: Santa" and I had Sonic, then I turned to the FirstPersonShooter named ReconX or something of that sort, I miss that game!

Pong. On one of those table-style arcade machines that usually had Space Invaders on it. In a pub. In 1976 (if you remember that long, hot summer[tm]).

First PC / console game: V. early Tron / Snake style game (long before the Disney movie came out), block graphics on a Sharp MZ-80K. Written in SharpBASIC. In 1979.

<sigh> Nostalgia's not what it used to be...

Mine was a game I have struggled to remember the name of for years. It was for the 2600, and had rows of asteroid and other stuff scrolling horizontally across the top of the screen, and you had to shoot them out from below. If anyone can help identify it, I'd be very greatful :)

ARCADE: Donkey Kong in the Snoopy bar in Magaluf - one of my fondest memories is my nan taking me there to play mini-golf, buying me a chocolate milk after, and letting me have a go on "one of those noisy machines". OMG - am actually weeping!!!!

CONSOLE: Super Mario Bros 2 for the NES. Went round a friends house and he was going mad over it. I had never heard of Mario.

AMIGA: Shadow Of The Beast. Same friend as before was showing off the graphics.

PC: Prince Of Persia (Original). We used to have a hookie copy on a shared area of the network ;)

Was this Helicopter 2D game for my Amiga 1200, can't remember the name of it, but man it was awesome!

( You were in an Apache, you saw it from the side )

I know it is not this game but i remember a game i liked similar to that for the Amiga called Jetstrike. You could fly helicopters as well as planes.

I genuinely hope you're not refering to Space Invaiders (the only one I can think of that fits the description), surely everyone knows Space Invaiders.

For me it was more than likely Combat on the 2600, that or pong - I remember the difficulty I had learning to use those paddle controllers.
