Call of Duty 4: Xbox 360 Update Coming

Recommended Posts

Infinity ward's Community Relations Manager Robert Bowling (Fourzerotwo) recently gave out a few details on the first update for Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare on the Xbox 360.

Although he couldn't give the exact date this download will be available to the community (or if it will also be made available to the PC or PS3 versions of the game), he did mention what new features and optimizations gamers can expect from it when it does go live.

It looks like Infinity Ward has been listening to their fans since they've decided to add features such as kill cams for airstrike bombs and claymores. In addition, gamers will be happy to know that multiplayer games will no longer be cut if the host exits since the system will now auto-select the next best host among the active players.

Those who prefer the Oldschool mode will be happy to find out that they're also getting some love from Infinity Ward. The next update adds unlimited sprinting to the mix as well as increased magazine sizes for the weapons. To watch all of the awesome kills you'll be making, the developers have also added a nice Ragdoll cam.

In addition to those new features, Infinity Ward also added a few optimizations and tweaks to the game which should make online multiplayer much more smoother. So before we go, here are the rest of the changes that the update will also be implementing:

* Identify party by background color (in Lobby)

* Optimized server selection for first match for better connections

* Improved network performance for 18 player games

* Optimized 'Chase Cam' when Spectating

* Fixed Playlist error when attempting to join from other games

* Handle Corrupt Create A Class data instead of kicking player

Such a great game, and it's awesome that they're really listening to the community. Good stuff. (Y)

If you haven't picked this game up yet... what are you waiting for?!

Ah, very nice (Y)

But, "Infinity Ward also added a few optimizations and tweaks to the game which should make online multiplayer much more smoother. " - It's by far the most silky smooth multiplayer experience i ever had ... How can they make it even smoother  ?

Sounds great, it is already an amazing Multiplayer experience, and sounds like with tweaks and enhancements it will be better. But what is that about Ragoll cam, does that mean you can save the kills, I doubt you will watch them while playing... Have to wait and see :D After Halo 3 I expect every game to take screen shots and save video, oh well.

Money to grow on trees :p

Haha, I hear that man! I have yet to pick up Assassins Creed and Ace Combat 6 because I just don't have the money for it right now. Man, so many great games. So little time and money! :D

soon you can see parties... uh oh, we usually tell people were not a party, and it's a fluke, that the top 3 players are always on the same team LOL

We would do that but the clantag kinda gives it away a bit :p

Just played the first intro level/mission on the PC and it was great  I think the only other titles in the same category for best opening would be Bioshock and The Darkness. My pc can just handle it all on high settings but I'll definately be buying it for 360 or asking for it as an xmas gift :)

Some people have a huge friendslist with Live ;)

obviously, but surely the game plays the same across all 3 platforms?

And don't want to spend 30 mins searching for them before they can play a match

boo-ya :woot:

...what?
