Beastage
http://my.opera.com/desktopteam/blog/ I'm shocked! it renders any site I ever used perfectly! even sites that only work well on IE and bork on opera and ff in the past. Faster than I ever noticed and no matter how heavy the site is scrolls and handles it smoothly....
Slimy
I'm still waiting for Beta 2 before I update.
mpcidm
It looks tempting; I've tried Opera before, but always went back to FF. FF is getting too bloated IMO, and I'm considering moving to Opera, or maybe even links-gui.
Napalm Frog
I dunno. The build itself is smooth, but the last few version have werid quirks, the main one being that images don't fully load. The best examples of these are Facebook profile pics, and visiting any website URL that ends in PNG or JPG... It's really wierd, as I've only seen it 75% of the time. htwho
Even though I find nothing wrong with Firefox, I might consider switching if I find myself actually enjoying Opera. :)

Anyway, I've tried Opera a few times before and I find it slower then IE/FF (so I find it hard to believe it is the fastest browser out there, as Opera claim), mind you I find Firefox slow as well (still use it as my primary browser). However, my Internet is quite crippled (as I live in Australia, we are still the in the dark ages in terms of Internet speed :p) so that might also have some effect on browser speed as well I'd imagine :p
htwho
Opera seems the same the last time I tried it. I just can't leave Firefox because I customized it to the point that I don't want to learn how to use and tweak another browser all over again. Oh well :p
Steve Gosselin
I've tried Opera a few times before and I find it slower then IE/FF  Okay...
Xerxes
 Okay... Well it has been slower then IE/FF on all the computers I've tested it on, personally I don't understand all the fuss about Opera.
Shasoosh
im a big opera fan(boy) but i didn't found any speed increase in the last ver. In my old machine opera was faster but with a dual core it seems the same as firefox. I've tried to test the last ver side by side with FF with a couple of Websites (including neowin) but didn't found anything interesting.

Try these settings: opera:config - Performance -- Max Connections Server: 16 -- Max Connections Total: 64 -- Network Buffer Size: 32 -- Uncheck --> Reduce Max Persistent HTTP Connections Also, Go to Tools --> Preferences --> Advanced --> Browsing --> Try Redraw instantly (loading zone)

[deXter]
Unfortunately, animated GIFs still do not display properly (eg: my sigs) and there's a weird new bug that causes opera.exe to remain in memory even after the browser is closed. Still, the speed improvements imho were significant, so worth the upgrade for me :)

Randolph
Would you guys say this is the fastest rendering browser available today for Windows? Thats what I am really after right now. Firefox seems slow, even with the Fasterfox plugin.
