Vortex566
What I want to know is my TV can do 1080i but not 1080p. I have just brought a PS3 is it better to use 1080i or 720p ? Thanks in advance
uniacidz
IMHO, 1080i would be better.
bangbang023 Veteran Posted November 19, 2007 Veteran Share Posted November 19, 2007 I would try both and see. Your set, presuming it's a flat panel, is going to display 720p. It accepts a 1080i image, but it downscales it to 720p. With that in mind, 720p may look better because there's less processing needed, however, that's a very basic principle and both resolutions should be tested to see if there's any noticeable difference. Joel
I leave my satellite receiver on 1080i output to my 1366 x 768 pixel Sharp Aquos, only because 768 is higher than 720 and I didn't want it try to upscale. I've tried both and prefer the 1080i output, but that may be the placebo effect.
