krupt
Hi guys, something really weird happened yesterday to my Firefox which I have been using for over a year and I can't fix it. Basically, when I download anything, it appears in the DOWNLOAD popup box and I see my downloads etc etc The other day, I'm trying to download a file and clicking it and just, nothing is happening, I can't see anything - so then I look at my desktop and I see the files are on my desktop and being downloaded but then I click on DOWNLOAD POPUP BOX and it is empty. Ok so then I uninstalled Firefox.....restarted the computer Reinstalled Firefox, - then I get an error message saying Firefox cannot install or something...so thenI change the installation directory from C: to D: and it installs Then when I launch it - it has basically got all my old Firefox settings like skin and bookmark all on it but the Download thing is still not working. It's really annoying. If the download file is small like less than 1MB it is fine, coz I know it will be done in 10 second....but a bigger file like 5MB or grater, don't know if it is downloading and I download a lot as I use Photoshop alot so I download brushes and stuff. Can anyone help me out? I've been trying to figure it out for 2 days with no luck...it just happened on it's own. Like changed it's settings or something MY Firefox is the latest build - 2.0.0.
Ninety
My first thought would be the theme.jar but since you reinstalled in a different directory.. Maybe there's something in your userchrome.css file hiding them.
SacrificialSoldier
Try renaming the folder C:\Documents and Settings\Administrator\Application Data\Mozilla to Mozilla2 or something like that and reinstall. see what happens. Oh, and 2.0.0.10 is now out.
Worldchrisis
I had the same problem. What worked for me was deleting the download.rdf file in the user profile folder. http://kb.mozillazine.org/Unable_to_save_or_download_files that'll tell you how to do it.
