DrunknMunky Veteran Posted November 26, 2007 Veteran Share Posted November 26, 2007 By Tom IvanSony Computer Entertainment Japan has announced that the PSP Slim and Lite has sold more than a million units in Japan since launching two months ago. Having launched on September 20 in Japan, the redesigned PSP passed the one million units sold mark two weeks faster than the original PSP, released in December 2004, said SCEJ in a statement on its website. According to Famitsu figures, 326,645 PSP Slims were sold during the system’s first ten days of availability, a number dramatically boosted by the release of a Final Fantasy VII: Crisis Core bundle. Sony PSP Slim (PSP-2000 in Japan) is 33 percent lighter and 19 percent slimmer than the original model. It also features a faster UMD drive, longer battery life, and video output capabilities allowing PSP videos to be played through a television set. SCEJ will release two limited edition Deep Red PSP packs on December 13. The two packs, which will come bundled with varying peripherals, will retail for 22,800 yen and 29,800 yen respectively. SCEJ also noted that there are more than 500 PSP titles available domestically, a library that will be boosted by the likes of Patapon and Talkman Travel before the end of the year.
