Website hosting trouble..

Question

Hey, i was just wondering if anyone else has had any experience of this kind, and how they got through it

I ordered some hosting off supanames.co.uk on thursday at 10pm. They said it would take a max of 12 hours to become avalable. I sent them emails on friday asking whats going on, no response. I sent a couple more emails, and gave up. Its now saturday night, and i decided to ring there '24 hour tec support' and was confronted with an answer machene. The worst thing is, the domain is still inactive, and the money has been withdrawn from my natwest solo account.

Anyone got any ideas what i should do? its starting to get a little frustrating.

I signed up for a host at supanames last year, i got no emails, i waited a week, still no emails, so i emailed them asking what the hell was going on and they email me back asking for my name, address, domain and credit card number and they asked me wot was the purpose of using my hosting for, i emailed them back, nothing for 2 days....got my friend to email them, and they emailed him back telling him that i was rejected. I got refund 3 days later tho.

If you are rejected and get a refund, I might suggest HostOnce. IMO, they have the best web hosting money can buy - unlimited space, bandwidth(supposedly, but I've never had a complaint about this), pop3 emails, and they register a free domain for you as well as pay the fees to maintain it as long as you remain a customer - all for $4.95 a month(or ?3.50)!:jump::

I have sent a few support requests to them, however, both about the speed of the server. 95% of the time they are working good, but the other 5% I've pinged my site and gotten a response of 3000 MS. On the lighter note of that, once I sent the report to them, my ping lowered dramatically in about 12 hours. Since then, I haven't had any problems at all. Only other complain I would have is the fact that from trial and error, I've discovered they don't support PHP, only CGI. But they do give you two free subdomains with the ability to purchase more at $5 a pop.:DD

Oh yeah, www.hostonce.com. That might help. :pinch::

the first thing you should do now is fone your bank. Explain the situation and get the money back - let the bank persue the issue.

Then - go and register with some one reputable. I have 20 domains - or there abouts with www.easily.co.uk - they are the best in the UK for supplying domains- i dont exadurate.

The only thing is, i dont have a credit card, i only have a solo card, only a few hosts seem to have this.

I dont see why i should be rejected, my site was just a site for a small group of programmers of small applications (msn apps, etc, not anything that would break the rules)

they actually replied to me...

We have been, unfortunately, unable to process this transaction as it has

not passed the standard checks enforced on all orders over a certain value

carried out after the initial card authentication which is done by Netbanx.

ok, seems im not going to be able to get hosted on this host :(

so does anyone know any hosts that will fit this specification?

Must Accept Solo card

must support php4

3,000 mb bandwith, but cheap and easy to get more

mysql, optional i guess

paying yearly, preferrably.

anyone got any ideas?
