Just how much flash did you use on the model? What shutter speed and aperture? The shadows give it a wonderful appearance.

no flash was used, as the spotlight within the display case of the store was quite enough.

The price!! Nearly ?880!!! The same focal length at f2.0 is ?150 or thereabouts. Is the jump down from f2.0 to f1.4 worth it?

I got mine for ?649 delivered with an extended 3 year warranty and a free (rrp ?40) Hoya UV filter.

It really is a great lens. You get what you pay for in photography. It's such an expensive hobby, but this lens is worth every penny.

If you're looking at a prime lens, you should consider the Canon 50mm f/1.4.

I currently have a 50mm f/1.8 which is very good. I'm just looking for a very short and fast lense (i.e. 10mm or so and less than f/2.0)

The only Canon based lense I could see that gets anywhere near that would be the 10-22mm f/3.5-4.5

I actually have the Canon 10-22mm. I love that lens, but pretty useless in low lighting as you can imagine. I was very near to getting the 50mm 1.4 but moonman warned me that it's quite a long lens, so i went with the 35mm and i'm glad i did.
