If you are talking about the bootscreen, DOS can't display 32-bit color so it uglifies it. If that's not what you are talking about then you are j ust an idiot

In photoshop, you can only edit in 24bit and png's only edit it in 8 bit due to photoshop's bit memory protection, because if you could edit it in 32 bit, it would eat all your resources and make photoshop run really slow and possibly crash. so what they did is lowered the bit editing to 24 but preserveed the image quility in a type of "cache memory" so when you are done editing it, you can save it back to 32bit bmp's and 16bit png's and keep the same quality. Hope that helps.

How do you save it back as a 32-bit image? If you change the bit/channel options under Image->Mode you see there are two options 8 bit/channel (24-bit) and 16 bit/channel (48-bit). I'd like to know how you save it back as a 32-bit image after editing. Also where did you find out about what you posted?

The Image>Mode thing is something you should never have to worry about, it's just the standard that photoshop edits in, the output is what you should be worried about ("save as" part) gif modes need to be done in rgb so that photoshop can convert the edited pixels into a form that prepares the gif for rendering to turn it into index. but anyways, to change a bmp back to 32, there is an radial button after you choose "save as" that says 32 bit, the default is at 24 bit. Hope you understand what I just said. :)
