1UP Previews Devil May Cry 4: PLAYSTATION 3 Version Is Superior

The latest 1UP Preview for Capcom's upcoming Devil May Cry 4 reveals some good information for PLAYSTATION 3 players.

In the video, they go into console comparison. Shane Bettenhausen starts speaking "Capcom brought the game in, we got to play it, both the PLAYSTATION 3 and Xbox 360 versions. First thing I noticed, the PLAYSTATION 3 version is better."

Bryan Intihar chimes in on the situation "It's funny. You can tell, this game is built for the PLAYSTATION 3, but moved over to the Xbox 360. As of right now, I think the PLAYSTATION 3 version is better. I saw like screen tearing in the Xbox 360 version. Even like, when you were playing it, it felt better on the PLAYSTATION 3."

Bettenhausen comes back with a "With the triggers on the DUALSHOCK 3/SIXAXIS, it's easier to pull of the moves on the PLAYSTATION 3 versus, the Xbox 360 controller."

Well for a start DMC4 wasnt even meant to be on the xbox 360 for a start anyway thus its more designed/optimised for the ps3

some games look better on the xbox 360, some look better on the ps3, it doesnt really matter. graphics aint always everything

Except when they are better on the 360 at which point 360 fans dont hesitate to let PS3 fans know it.....

Funny how if it looks nicer on the PS3 graphics dont matter, yet if it looks nicer on the 360 its because the PS3 is crap.

er no. The general consensus is that games look better on the 360 because the 360 is the easier platform to develop for, and porting to the PS3 is difficult. Not becasue the PS3 is crap.

Obviously, if the game is developed primarily on the PS3, then its not going to have that problem.

Ermm DMC4 was initially developed for the PS3 from the ground up and it has simply been ported to the XBOX360 so i would expect nothing less than for it to be better on the PS3. Who cares anyway?? DMC4 looks very average anyway even on PS3.

why is he using the word "like" so often, he cant sub the "like" for something else? ... anyway ... lets see the game after it get released on both platforms and then judge .... let it be for now

Sixaxis' triggers are bent outward.

The X360 controller's triggers are bent inwards.

Hmmm, can't imagine how would that matter... :huh: or is there any difference with the input ? (analog, digital)

Hmmm. That's strange because IGN had a different take on it:

One other thing that Kobayashi made sure to point out was that the differences between the PS3 and the 360 builds were so extremely small that it would be almost imperceptible for most players. In fact, he pointed out that the only technical elements that the development team were picking up on as they designed the game were subtle adjustments in color and light saturation on the two platforms. Kobayashi spent a little extra time switching back and forth between PS3 and 360 debugs, and it was pretty tricky to see any noticeable difference in the game itself, which bodes well for the performance and visual quality of the game.

It was at E3, but the Gamespot preview said that the games were pretty much the same, except that the PS3 version had better draw distance.

There's supposed to be Sixaxis support as well.
