DirtyLarry Veteran Posted December 11, 2007 Veteran Share Posted December 11, 2007 I just called my EB Games to confirm, and my pre-order is indeed waiting for me. 2 hours left until I leave work, have to go visit my parents after I pick it up, so approximately 4 hours until game time. kak
Better yet you can choose when your online to only play with keyboard and mouse people, or only controller people, or if you don't care you can set it to both. I think it's great that they did that. Oh this is nice. I have an MX5000 for my computer. I wonder if I can just pull the dongle out of my PC and then use it for double time on the PS3. DirtyLarry Veteran Posted December 11, 2007 Veteran Share Posted December 11, 2007 So a bluetooth keyboard and mouse will work with this game? If so, SWEET. It does not even have to be Bluetooth, my cordless KB&M just has a USB dongle.
stanley porkchop
Very nice. I'm impressed (Y) Sounds like Epic did a great job with this one.

Oh god, this is awesome. I have an old one of those too.

Lucky PS3ers ;) Thats a first  but thankfully there will be more of that to come in 2008 It does not even have to be Bluetooth, my cordless KB&M just has a USB dongle. Yeah I should of said any USB or Bluetooth will work. That includes USB receivers for wireless mouses and keyboards.
DirtyLarry Veteran Posted December 11, 2007 Veteran Share Posted December 11, 2007 Wait, and RF keyboard will work if it has the dongle? Oh god, this is awesome. I have an old one of those too. Yep. (Y) As I said earlier, my KB&M currently works within the console system itself. I will verify it works with UT3 tonight, but if I do not post back right away in this topic tonight, take that as it did work and I am playing it. +Audioboxer Subscriber² Posted December 11, 2007 Author Subscriber² Share Posted December 11, 2007 You can enable 1080p upscaling by turning off 1080i/720p in the PS3 options. I dunno if this makes it look better or not? It runs natively at 720p...

DirtyLarry Veteran Posted December 12, 2007 Veteran Share Posted December 12, 2007 **** YEAH!!!! I never thought this day would come, but I am playing a First Person Shooter on my console with a MOUSE & KEYBOARD!!! So my cheap $30 Logitech combo works fine as can be. The game saw the mouse right away but not the keyboard. Unplugged the USB dongle and plugged it in again and then it saw the keyboard no issues at all. So far have not got online, just the SP "Campaign" but this game is a perfect example of why I abandoned PC gaming for consoles. Graphics look amazing, frame rate is solid as can be which is huge for a game like this, and I am finally getting a similar experience to playing on my PC. Just really no complaints yet at all and I am ecstatic if you could not tell, this is what I envisioned Next Gen to mean personally, replace my PC fully. So I will hop online and see if there are any issues with lag or anything like that, but seriously, I am very excited the day has finally arrived. Also, I have to say already just playing with both really quick, it is without a doubt an advantage using the KB&M, at least for awhile. For those familiar with Unreal, the Shock Rifles Alt Fire lets you shoot an energy ball, which you can then shoot with your Primary Fire to cause it to explode. I pulled this famous combo off no problem at all with my mouse (in all fairness I had done it 1000's of times with UT2K4), but it took me 5 times to pull it off with the controller. Now yes, I am sure I can get used to it on the controller and pull it off, but the fact is I was able to pull it off literally right away very first attempt for not playing UT2K4 in at least 2 years, and this again was with the KB&M. So for seasoned PC gamers such as myself, I cannot help but think using the KB&M gives is a slight advantage, at least for a little while until people master the controller. Nightz
about to pop the game in and play for the first time. soo excited. on a side note, looking at the address on the registration card, i was surprised to see that midway is just an exit away from where i work.
Nightz
having not played Unreal in years, i was taken back at first by the speed of the game. i simply did not remember how fast and twitchy UT was. After a few games, i'm getting the hang of it again. i don't have a mouse and keyboard to try the game with, but i think the controls are just fine on my DS3. i'm loving the rumble as well. How? Import? And I have no doubt the game can and will be enjoyable with a controller, I am just that happy that I can use a KBM combo again. I also say I have to agree with you, I too did not remember how damn fast paced the game is, it really is quite a change of pace to get used to. I recall them saying it was going to be more like a actual campaign mode, like a true SP game, but it is the same exact thing as past Unreals, Matches with Bots, with cut scenes trying to flesh out a story in between. Really do not know what crack they were smoking saying the Campaign would be any different this time around, unless I actually missed something I was supposed to click on, all I saw was Matches with Bots.
