Sony planning to go against iTunes, Live in 2008

Good but upstaging Itunes impossible.

Why is Sony coming off arrogant again?

Nothing is impossible.

Correct me if i'm wrong but isn't Sony also a record label or a division of a large label?

Sounds to me like that would be a great move on there part.

It would be arrogant if Sony came out and said we're going up against iTunes and "we'll be better!" - Or some variation of that.

So you believe they enter into a business venture, assign funds and don't want to be better than iTunes?

Sorry, but every business venture I go into, I want to be great at. I assume I will be, then I work to fulfil those assumptions. I consider that arrogance, but not in a bad way.

I do not see arrogance as a bad thing, I take it to mean that you set a goal and are set out to achieve that goal, no matter what any other party may feel about it. Your goal is the key and not theirs!

Oh don't get me wrong, they will definitely want to better.

What im hitting at is the speech made in regards to what they are planning on doing doesn't come across as arrogant to me - It would if they said something like I gave as my example... "We are starting this new venture, and we're confident we'll be better/excel further than the rest".

Totally correct. The only reason music is so cheap on iTunes is because Apple makes all their money from hardware sales, so they have no need to up the price for the music to make a profit themselves. And we all know Sony isn't making any money off hardware sales, so what could be in store for music prices?
