Sony CEO: PS3 games are infinitely more fun, demanding and exciting than Wii

The CEO of Sony, Howard Stringer, recently commented that the is happy the Wii is running into a shortage of hardware problems as the PS3 will come into its own as its high end games are infinitely more fun, demanding and exciting.

quote:

"I'm glad that the last few weeks have generated excitement about PlayStation 3," Stringer said. Everyone's stopped talking about it the way they were six months ago.

"I'm happy that the Wii seems to be running a bit short of hardware ... the PlayStation 3 will come into its own because its [high-end games] are infinitely more fun and demanding and exciting.

"The question people quite rightly asked was if the PS3 was going to get through this early cycle ... I feel much more confident about that now."

"Apples are infinitely more delicious than pears because they come in red, yellow and green!"

Some ****ed up logic if you ask me.

I would've said oranges instead of pears lol.

Being an all time Sony-fan, owning the original PS, PS2 "Fat", and the PSP "Fat", I have to say the PS3 saddens me. I expected much better from Sony and thought it would conquer the VG industry as it did with the PS2. Since I found out the PS3 sucks I decided, of course, not to get one. X360 is much better than the PS3, and it's just sand to see Sony in such a bad shape. As for Wii.. it's not really what I'd call a videogame console, as it is more... interactive?

i think consumers really need to just stop buying products from companies that prove over and over again that if it wasnt for the brand name, they wouldnt have the know-how to ever really succeed. They treat everyone, even their own consumers, like they are all retarded. If you choose to support them, eh, i guess the whole arguement is pretty futile.

I'm not trying to sound nasty here or take a shot at you Spartan, but is this really worth posting? Sure if the Sony CEO had said something really bad about the wii, or made big false claims, but all he's done here is what anyone in the world would expect him to do; Praise his companies product. That's part of his job.

I know, and I'd said this many times before... the biggest problem at Sony is their management, they're the ones making the PS3 the joke of the gaming industry.

Thanks, Howard, but I'll decide on my own what games I find most fun. Currently the DS is pretty much whomping the competition in the fun-factor arena, at least by my standards.

Totally agree, the way the PS3 has been handled hasn't been too efficient. Not to say that the xbox or wii have been perfect, far from it (like how long it took Msoft to do something about the high failture rates) but the PS3 has been the worst of the three.

I have both a PS3 and Wii, and my PS3 is infinitely more fun when I play the MP sections of games. Thats just me though. I have Mario Galaxy as well, but have yet to play it. It may be infinitely more fun than any RPG/Platformer than the PS3 may offer.

That's true for me, and probably will be for most "hardcore" gamers.

I'll take the likes of Mass Effect, Bioshock, COD4, Halo 3 over Zelda, Mario, MP3 anyday.

Not to say I don't like the Wii games, but "high-end" games are better suited to my gaming tastes.

PR will never be 100% liked by everyone....

If you dumb your console down, your scared, have no commitment, and have "lost" already.

If you build your console up your arrogant, blind, making false claims/promises.

If you remain silent, you've lost your job in PR :p

Wait, so Sony is endorsing their console?!? Everyone, stop the presses, this is major news! A company is saying good things about its products!

Everyone else stop the presses! There's a clueless guy in Isle #22...

The problem doesn't lie in him endorsing his product, it lies in the way he goes about it - acting as if it's proven fact that his product is better in the face of millions of people who've experienced otherwise. He'd have been much better off starting that sentence with "I think ..."

If he doesn't say it, no one else will say it. He's actually doing good for the company. I don't see why everyone's criticizing his words. You can say that he's wrong or what not, but hey, the future of the console lies in his hands.
