Julius Caro
So, i decided to wipe my XP installation and give Vista one last try... big mistake, after getting it installed, activated and my programs working it decided to not let me connect to MS Update (uh oh!) to cut a long story short, i gave up on Microsoft completely wiped the HDD and installed Ubuntu, so here i am on a fresh new Ubuntu only machine.Liking it so far, Synaptic and apt-get are great and everything is working (even Compiz) although i disabled it bc it's just annoying. :) compiz was annoying back in the day when they'd go all-out with the default effects. but now I think the standard effects are PERFECT, perhaps with a couple of tweaks. That said, I'm starting to lose my faith in vista. In three weeks I have formatted three times. And the last one really solved the problems I was having. Like, the wifi dropping out, etc etc etc. Minor things that I'm sure have to do with drivers. but the drivers were the same so I dont know. Anyway, Ubuntu is a nice OS. Although every time I try to ONLY use ubuntu I end up using windows again. But not because of windows per se. I miss office 2007 and msn messenger, and I dont use that many apps besides those xD I hate the ubuntu counterpart to those apps xD But they do the job

You don't know how to fix a connectivity issue that is more than likely generated on your end (either by firewall, or DNS issue between your ISP's DNS servers and Microsoft's DNS servers), so you blame it on Windows Vista and install Linux? I believe I have seen it all now...

You wouldn't believe what I went through back in the day, with his issues I installed Windows 2000 Advanced Server from Windows XP Home Edition SP1, and sure enough my problems were solved lol

I've seen lots of people quit trying Linux for reasons sillier than that! ;) Oh, and by the way, it seems that Janitor has been banned, so I don't think you will get a reply or explanation from him.
