GryphonPhoenix
From PSP Fanboy PSP firmware 3.80 is now available via Network Update. Here's the scoop on what's new: * [internet Radio] has been added as a feature under [Network]. * The importing of channels in OPML format is now supported under [RSS Channel]. * Photos can now be displayed under [RSS Channel]. * New effects have been added to the visual player under [Music]. Only one new visualizer has been added. It acts like a slow Etch-a-Sketch. I updated via network update this morning and is working well... internet radio is cool... What do you guys think? I think you need a fully charged battery to update.

Xerxes
I think you need a fully charged battery to update. I know you need a fully charged battery to update (helps prevent bricking your PSP) but the thing I don't get is even running off external power, it won't update..I've had it low on batteries before running off mains...I don't get why it won't this time? odd, I checked 2hrs ago and nothing, now its on.. and updating. I wish thought that they can let the PSP play music while im looking through my photos You can.

Just hit the home button to back out of the music player (it will keep playing), and then view your pics with the music playing.
Randolph
*Waits for DAX to release his M33 version* DAX as in..Dark Alex? I thought he left the scene. If hes back....I need to go buy a new PSP asap? ;)
Ji@nBing
DAX as in..Dark Alex? I thought he left the scene. If hes back....I need to go buy a new PSP asap? ;) He's still releasing stuff, just not at the rate he used to. He recently released M33 3.71 update 4 and a little plugin to fake your MAC address. I'd wait to buy that PSP just to make sure he's going to release M33 3.80, but must most people in the scene and that know him seem to think he will. Edit: Oh, and if you've been out of it for a while, you should know that there is something called Pandora's Battery that can downgrade any PSP. SnowRanger13
DAX as in..Dark Alex? I thought he left the scene. If hes back....I need to go buy a new PSP asap? ;) He came back as M33. Not sure if I'm right but as far as I know M33 is Dark_Alex and a few other guys. He recently released an update for 3.71 M33 (updating it to 3.71 M33 update 4), he never did 3.72 or 3.73 because he said they were too small to matter, a few other people tried his way of making custom firmware to make custom 3.72 and 3.73s but they don't seem to be very popular. Now that there is 3.80 maybe he'll see it big enough to do.
Randolph
Thanks guys for the update. Are the new PSP's modable? Or should I stick with the old ones for this purpose?
Ji@nBing
Thanks guys for the update. Are the new PSP's modable? Or should I stick with the old ones for this purpose? They are, but you would need another one already modded to make the aforementioned Pandora's Battery, unless there is another way I'm not aware of. Haven't kept up on downgrading slims because I'm perfectly happy with my phat.
ichi
Edit: Oh, and if you've been out of it for a while, you should know that there is something called Pandora's Battery that can downgrade any PSP. Technically, using the newest pandora ("Despertar del cementerio V3") there's no need to downgrade, now it flashes any PSP (bricks included) straight to 3.71M33-2. thefonz
What is this M33? Is it a homebrew? If so, is it easy since i have a psp running official firmware 3.74 i think it is (upgraded it last saturday evening). But it'd be nice to have it modded so I can do my own stuff on it!
