+Audioboxer Subscriber² Posted December 19, 2007 Subscriber² Share Posted December 19, 2007 Just a quick one here, does anyone know if NTSC i.e. American PS1 games will work on a PAL PS3 ? Nope :( PS1 games are region-locked. Only PS3 games are region free! Is this to remote play on a PSP or just to play on a PS3?
Corris Veteran Posted December 19, 2007 Veteran Share Posted December 19, 2007 From what I know, they wont. Backwards computability is region locked, whether that be PS2 or PS1 games. If I am wrong hopefully someone will correct me. ^Gah, beat me to it!
Vortex566
Remote play, a lot of the games I want to play where never released over here such as Chrono Cross and Xenogears. I was just wondering if finally I could play the game by legal means but alas not :(

I was just wondering if finally I could play the game by legal means but alas not :( I respect your stance on legality, but mate, just use CFW for your imports. CFW minus the fact is plays ISO/CSO files, really isn't "pirating" or "illegal". All it does it let you do a lot of stuff Sony should have enabled from the get go (run homebrew, use emulators) - But I understand why they don't, they'd get lawsuits and other silly moans from the industry. I have a PSP and I've played Chrono Cross and Xenogears from start to finish. The PSP homebrew scene have also found a way to allow you to put games 2+ discs onto the same memory card aswell... and for the likes of Chrono Cross, a game that doesn't let you save before changing discs, there is a user made patch for the ISO that solves that issue. Just because you use CFW, doesn't mean you need to start downloading the PSX games either. Import an original copy and rip it to an ISO/BIN file on your PC yourself. Up to you though... but I'd never dream of having a standard PSP again. Once you go CFW, you don't go back ;)
