Neil
Such a great game, odd the way all the rooms are empty and the way you never meet anyone. Didn't get any cake :(
Niels.
Actually, GLaDOS said at the end of the game that she was going to kill you with neurotoxic gas like she had killed everyone else. So thats why it's so empty.

Cant wait to play it some more.
curme
I was getting bored with it until the last few levels, then it got real cool to be "behind the scenes" so to speak. And the ending song is perfect! I just wish you could access the song anytime, without playing the last level over again. Hopefully, in another ten years, Valve will make a sequel that is twice as long. A whole day of game play!

curme
Youtube has the video of the end and as Richardsim says the song is around. I have been watching it on YouTube, but I'm on dial-up and it takes about a half an hour for it to load up. That is, if it doesn't stop loading halfway through, and I have to start all over again. ;)
cropcircles
Fantastic 21st century puzzle game. Try not using YouTube walkthroughs until you exhaust all your possibilities. They are right in front of you. Totally amazing game. 10.0 in my book.

PricklyPoo
Such a great game, odd the way all the rooms are empty and the way you never meet anyone. Yes, the time period is supposed to be somewhere in between the first Half-Life and Half-Life 2. The lab is supposed to be abandoned and apparently there were people working there but then the computer took over and killed them. The computer hints that it killed everyone in the facility with the gas. So the computer is all alone and apparently just running tests to maybe entertain itself with and killing androids or whatever the character is supposed to be. :p I think Episode 3 of Half-Life 2 will tie the whole Aperture Science Lab - Portal thing together more with the actual Half-Life game. Since in episode 3 you will probably be on an old ship made by the Aperture Science people back when Aperture was still an active science corperation apparently that competed with black mesa or something. I think thats kinda what the plot is.

Chicane-UK Veteran Posted January 1, 2008 Veteran Share Posted January 1, 2008 I've heard people say nothing but good things about this game so just picked it up off Steam. Was $21 including taxes so works out well in the UK because of the weak dollar. Taking a while to download though :(

spenser.d
I got the OB a few days ago. It took all of about 2.5 hours for me to beat Portal and I thought it was pretty great. I'll be going back through the bonus levels and such :D -Spenser
