evidence..... i opened both FF and NN with the same 2 tabs

FF = 34mb

NN= 17mb

imma liking navigator :D

Hmm, well. I'm not getting that good of results.

Same tabs open in each window. Firefox has some add-ons, NN9 has no add-ons (fresh install). [see screen shot below]

I've had both browsers open for about 15 minutes and neither of them have been increasing memory usage over time.

FX = 77.7mb

NN = 77.2mb

After that, I did a little bit of browsing in both Netscape and and Firefox, then made both browsers go to the same pages that the other had. Now I've got:

FX: 111.3mb

NN: 111.1mb

So, if there is a memory leak, they both have it and at the same rate. Neither uses significantly more or less memory than the other.

One thing I notice about yours (- Kaboose -) is that your Task manager is only showing Memory Usage, it is not showing Virtual Memory Usage. If you change your task manager to show Commit Size, that value should include both together (I think).

is anyone else having the same issues with tooltips being blank when u mouse-over a link, images and so on? i would like to think i'm not the only one.

thx

No, I am not getting the missing tool tips that you are having issues with.

Just gave it a try, I don't really like it on OS X. Still doesn't have that native feel that other Cocoa browsers like Camino and Safari have. Also didn't seem any faster than Firefox 3 Beta or Safari 3.

thx

here's a screen shot of what i'm talking about

Could be the combination of the Netscape theme and OS theme being used as in white on white. I do not have any userChrome.css handy that may override this though.

thanks for the reply, but it does this from a fresh install. it's not a super big deal, but it's nice to have it show in some situations. maybe in the next up date, it will be fixed...maybe.

Yup AOL have finally pulled the plug on what could have been a major success! They seem to have no idea how to manage software acquisitions (look at how the messed up Winamp).

The last couple of releases have just been re-brands of Firefox, the latest version was just a different theme and some bundled extensions.

The real Netscape died long ago, in it's place we have Mozilla.
