+Audioboxer Subscriber² Posted January 11, 2008 Author Subscriber² Share Posted January 11, 2008 Nice dude, I think I have the same style stand but it's glass instead. Mines is smoked black glass ;) (or by "glass" do you mean see-through, no colour glass?) Bought from Argos I believe. We have another one downstairs. PiracyX
Holy Hell! That TV looks sweet! By the look of things, your room is quite big, which is lucky for you. I would of easily gone for a 40" but my room is just so darn small plus i wanted if for PC usage aswell. Of course when i move out ill get myself a nice big TV like that for my living room. You got PS3 & 360 hooked up via HDMI?

You got PS3 & 360 hooked up via HDMI? It's a decent size, maybe not AS big as you may think. As I said I'll have some more snaps up this month - I got my PC decked out in here as well - But I won't be using the TV for PC :( 32" would of done fine, I only went with the 40" due to the deal I could wangle. Yeah both hooked up via HDMI, and both look great! TV has 3 HDMI sockets, 2 on back, 1 on side :)
Waylander
what about on freeview/sdtv? the w series and up are supposed to be better on freeview/sdtv but i have not had a chance to compare models in the 2000 and 3000 range. freefiew isnt a huge concern for me but i do watch it every so often. the sonys look really good (both the 2 and 3 thousand series) but i am also tempted by philips ambilight tv's the price is what i dont like about them. +Audioboxer Subscriber² Posted January 11, 2008 Author Subscriber² Share Posted January 11, 2008 SD is suppose to be "worse" on the V, than the W series but I can't notice a difference. With these settings, Picture Mode: StandardBacklight: 9 Contrast: 71 Brightness: 61 Colour: 53 Colour Temperature: Neutral Sharpness: 4 Noise Reduction: Low MPEG Noise Reduction: Low Advanced Settings Black Corrector: Off Adv. Contrast Enhancer: Off Gamma: Low Clear White: High Live Colour: Off Colour Space: Wide Other Settings Power Saving: Off Light Sensor: Off Source: http://www.avforums.com/forums/showpost.ph...mp;postcount=23 SD TV looks (Y) to me. I am primarily going to be using this tv for HD content/gaming though - Streamed movies/tv shows from my PC, so SD quality is of no concern to me anyway. Is the Philips Ambilight LCD or Plasma? I wouldn't go plasma as true 1080p resolutions on a Plasma costs an arm and leg.
