thefarewellnote
I was under the impression that using TVersity I would be able to play avi files on the PS3 but when i go to play it - all I get is "data not supported." Am I doing something wrong or am I wrong in thinking this? I have the latest firmware.
+Audioboxer Subscriber² Posted December 27, 2007 Subscriber² Share Posted December 27, 2007 Have you turned off transcoding in TVersity settings? Options - Transcoder - Set to "Never".
Fenris
Why use TVersity, when version 2.10 of the firmware enables avi playback?
+Audioboxer Subscriber² Posted December 27, 2007 Subscriber² Share Posted December 27, 2007 Why use TVersity, when version 2.10 of the firmware enables avi playback? To stream the files from your pc! Not everyone can/wants to load up their internal PS3 drive or connect an external drive to the PS3.
thefarewellnote
After researching a bit this is what I have so far. When viewing the file on my pc I can see the extension of avi but when viewing the information of the file on the PS3 it has a "-" where the codec name is suppose to go. Another area that I noticed is that is it will play one avi file I have but not the other two. Any ideas?
