glad to hear it. Here's some to try:

Assassins Creed

Fifa 08

Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter 2

Rainbow 6: Vegas

Tekken: Dark Resurrection Online

Guitar Hero III

+loads of greats on PSN

You may want to create accounts for Europe, US and Japan, as some demos are released at different times, you can only buy games in your own region though :(

You missed Uncharted, Ratchet and Clank and Warhawk. Top 3 games in the PS3 for me

Can I just cover one thing up quickly,

The PS3 has the potential to have better games, it's just no one has brought anything that really test's the ps3's system

I don't want to argue anymore, but sure, opinion's are opinions, but basing it on the specifications on each system, the ps3 has the possibility to have bigger and better games.

The XBOX360 has the potential to have better games than whats already out. You think it will just be the PS3 that will get better and not the 360? Just because it is newer doesnt actually make it better. The graphics chip inside the PS3 is inferior to 360 but not by much so in theory, XBOX360 has the potential to have better looking games. The only thing you mentioned is bigger games which the Blu-Ray drive might be helpful this gerneration.

Only a few games (RPGs) have spanded on mulitple discs on 360.

I am not bashing the PS3, I want to get one but i am really waiting for the much better games to come out, rather than ports, and slower ports at that. One game like uncharted isn't going to make me buy the machine i am afraid.

You are right PS3 has the possibility to have bigger and better games that whats already out, but the XBOX360 has this potential too. If you say otherwise, you are bashing it. Just because it doesnt have Blu-Ray inside it, doesnt mean it is inferior.

Anyway, to the OP, Enjoy your PS3!!!!! :)

sorry  im just over-excited, looking to far ahead. ive just rented a game out, Assassins Creed, playing it right now. just pure wow!!!

by the way, ive also put linux fedora with ibm cell sdk, wrote a simple c type script, you are not going to believe the results im getting, this cell processor for just pure number crunching is just amazing, i wish the xbox360 was also an open system, that beast has three pure cpu's!! full instruction set ISA's!!!

still, cell programming is now a real possibility for me and it only cost me ?299.

im loving it!

Glad you're able to take advantage of the ability to install Linux. It's probably a niche market, but it's nice to see people making good use out of it:happy::

I'll probably muster up the courage to install Linux and have a mess around the day homebrew picks up on it (potential full access to RSX for perfect video playback (VLC) and emulation possibilites)

I might get a PS3. I have a PS2 and would like to carry over some of my current games. But, I'm not a frequent gamer. How well does the PS3 rate as an all-in-one "entertainment" center to play MP3, Blu-Ray, etc. I might not have a hi-def screen initially. I'm moving in near future and have a 5+year old Toshiba DVD player and was going to upgrade it.

The PS3 is the best Blu-ray player on the market. It's DVD-upscaling is top-notch. It also excels at playing audio, video and photos. It supports media streaming as well. If you plan on paying PS2 games on it, you will want to get the 80 gigger, or better yet, the 60 gigger (if you can find one). :)

No question about it, the PS3 is the best Blu-Ray player currently available on the market.

Console wise it is starting to get a great selection of games. ;)

my friends, im getting another one!!!

not bragging here, ive spent the last 4 hours non-stop programming, im just so amazed with the sheer computing power, i can just about afford another one and start a cluster system.

i thought my quad g5 was powerful, the ps3 blows it out competition.

does the ps3 support direct crossover network connection? does anyone know? i.e. connect two ps3 together via network cable (crossover).

thanks.

o yeah, i also bought a xbox360...... sweet!!!!!

This topic sort of reminds me of when the PS2 came out and everyone was worried Saddam Hussain could utilise the power of it to guide missiles. Just imagine what he could do with the PS3....

Just got my 40GB, it's super quiet!

Quieter than my 60GB and that is saying something. The 60GB was extremely quiet.

I actually almost can't tell it's switched on unless I go up close, and even then theres just a purrr like sound coming from a low speed fan. Of course it will get a little noisier in games ;)

PS3 looks exactly the same except from the silver strip being matte instead of reflective chrome.

Wireless seems to be a little stronger in the 40GB as well (it was stated the gain was upped). My signal in the living room is now hitting 71%, were previously it was around low to mid 60's.

Updating to 2.10 now!

(Y)

ps. I need to re-download all my demos/store games as they don't transfer over if you change your system :(
