The God of War franchise seems to wear its various directors down to a nub by the end, but it's all in the quiet pursuit of perfection. Cory Barlog has assured everyone that that will continue in his absence.

Since Cory Barlog made it known that he was leaving the Sony Computer Entertainment America Santa Monica team and the development of God of War III, he's been rather quiet on his future endeavors. He ended that silence today with a blog post, indicating that he was "cooking up several things" but remained vague on particulars, only saying that he'd be "updating on specifics as they become more solid." He also put to bed any fears that God of War III's development may have been put off track by his departure.

"I know for the God of War fans out there it might be a bummer that I am not working on God of War 3 (or for some it may be a good thing I am not) but rest assured that it is all in good hands," said Barlog in his blog. "The Sony Santa Monica team is one of the best teams I have ever worked with. Also, immediately after I finished God of War 2 I was already working on the story and design for the third game. So when Sony and I finally did part ways the foundation of the game, along with story that completes the arc we began in God of War, was complete. I wish I could have been there to see it through to the end, but it was just not meant to be I guess. The story is going to finish off with a very big, very epic bang though. I think everyone will be quite pleased."

so he finished the story and stuff and left the Sony right after? Sony gonna makes the game without him being there???

David Jaffe done the same thing

Both GOW 1 and GOW 2 have had differents heads in charge, but the same actual developers/studio behind them.

David Jaffe even said he got to contribute in some way to GOW 3 even although he is no longer part of Sony.

Take note of the first part,

The God of War franchise seems to wear its various directors down to a nub by the end, but it's all in the quiet pursuit of perfection. Cory Barlog has assured everyone that that will continue in his absence.
