Elliot B. Posted January 5, 2008 Share Posted January 5, 2008 Japan are selling a 20 GB model that feature hardware-based PS2 emulation and so did America (the 60 GB model). However, one of the two UK versions allows PS2 emulation but it's software-based. My question is - why? Is software-based emulation better than hardware-based? There is NO fully based software emulation of PS2 games on the PS3 - If there was the 40GB would support PS2 games. As for why the UK got that in the 60GB, I don't know, cut costs?
