Recommended Posts

Starting today, gamers may now pre-order Gran Turismo 5 Prologue via their local Gamestop or EB Games for only $5. According to Gamestop's listing, Polyphony Digital will be releasing GT 5 Prologue on March 19th, 2008 for only $39.99 USD.

For those of you paying attention to the game's release in Japan, you know since it's arrival on December 13th, Gran Turismo 5 Prologue has sold nearly 160,000 copies.

For a title that is an early look at what the overall product will be, Prologue is simply amazing. Currently Polyphony Digital has the game running at 1080p and at 60fps.

Stay tuned to PSU.com for more information.

Nah it happens with lots of games though.

FF7: Crisis Core came out in Japan months ago, and it's hitting in March this year in english.

Gran Turismo is the only game that lured me into buying the PS3, I was initially disappointed with the GT5 Prologue Demo off the JPN store, but I grew to like it. I'm still mixed between selling my PS3 and buying a Wii, or just keeping my PS3 until some attractive (to me) titles come out. :/

So far my love towards my PS3 has been fading, and haven't played it much for a significant amount of time. As for GT5P, only 160k sold since Dec 13, 07 isn't that kind of low?

These sales figures do not include Gran Turismo 4.

As of September 2007:

* 790,000 in Japan

* 410,000 in Europe

* 110,000 in South East Asia

* 50,000 in South Korea

* 1,360,000 total copies sold

In comparison to GT4 yeah, but logic would tell you it would be less as the PS3 has a "low" Japanese (and rest of the world) population right now.

GT4 Prologue came out in 2004 when the PS2 population must of been near 100 million (70-80-90?). It's 120 million now, or as of recent.

Keep it. I own both and FYI I haven't really touched the Wii. The amount of games vs. consoles sold for Wii is just laughable. Only games that are worth buying are Nintendo games and of the ones from Nintendo, 3/4 are actually playable.

GT5P is amazing, the more I play it the more I like it. I will be posting a review over the next week. I doubt us in the EU will see it until the summer.

I'm pretty sure its not actually 1080p. Listen to one of the 1UP yours shows from December.

Nevertheless, Gran turismo is still a game I want to play, and really, is one of the only PS3 exclusives that I would buy the system for (if I could afford it). Having the top gear track in there is just awesome.
