+Audioboxer Subscriber² Posted January 7, 2008 Subscriber² Share Posted January 7, 2008 (edited) Couldn?t afford the plane ticket to the city that never gets any sleep, or maybe you just couldn?t find your way into the Consumer Electronics Show this year. Either way, PSU is here to bring you updates throughout the entire event with news and details that matter most to you, our readers. During the next few days, we?ll cover up to the hour details in regards to Blu-ray, HD DVD, PlayStation 3, PlayStation Portable, and any other gaming related press conferences and shows. There have been some pretty big announcements already thus far and we have yet to even start the event. We also look forward to hearing from keynote conference speeches from both Sony and Microsoft. Both of which are scheduled to happen over the course of today, Sunday, January 6th. Microsoft?s press conference will be presented by Bill Gates and Robbie Bach tonight at 6:15 PM PST, which is 2:15 AM GMT for the guys across the pond. They [Gates and Bach] plan on discussing a handful of features for their gaming platform as well as an on-stage demonstration that has yet to be announced. Last year at this time, Microsoft released their information about IPTV and other various things. One thing that has been denied is the rumor about a built-in HD DVD drive packaged with the XBOX 360. If you?d like to view Microsoft?s press conference live, they?ll be broadcasting it online at www.microsoft.com. Sony?s keynote press conference is going to be delivered at 4:15 PM PST, which is 12:15 AM GMT for the guys across the pond once again. Sony has kept pretty quiet on what they?re going to be discussing at the event, but we can make several guesses as what is to come. A lot of speculation is around a demo of Metal Gear Solid 4, which would be a huge occasion for the PlayStation name brand. As far as Blu-ray is concerned, we expect them to unveil BD 1.1 and BD-Live interactive as well. Hardcore BD supporters have waited a long time for their interactivity capabilities and here is to hoping that Sony produces something during their conference this afternoon. Unfortunately, Sony has no plan on broadcasting their conference online for you to listen in on so far, but it may possibly change within a couple of hours. Here at PSU, we are dedicating ourselves to bringing you up to the hour info on the Sony press conference this afternoon, so you won?t lose a beat. PSU is always bringing its readers a one stop shop for all of your Sony related gaming and video news as it?s released. Keep checking in often as we will be updating this section often over the next couple of days. "There's not another company in the world that has the depth of experience in technology in HD." He's going on about how amazing Sony high def gear and tech is. "Today we're taking the wraps off a new internal BD-ROM drive -- sub $200 -- offering consumers another option to enjoy BD movies." I guess by ROM drive they mean for PC? Or will this be a standalone Blu Ray player?
