Ajapi
Well, this is fairly simple. I don't own a Playstation 3 myself, but one of my best friends does. I'm the "tech guy" who kinda tells him which games are worth buying and which aren't :p So now he's telling me that he wants a party game girls won't be bored with. Now, these aren't the games I usually read about, so I'll ask here hehe. Would you recommend Guitar Hero or Rock Band? Both seem pretty cool... and is there a Dance Dance Revolution-ish game? The question is, mainly, which would you recommend? Rock Band comes with several instruments for immediate multiplayer action, seems great. Does Guitar Hero only come with one guitar? * I saw Rock Band has several instruments. Since the 40GB Playstation 3 (which is the one he has) only has 2 USB ports, would they all fit anyways? Gangsta
Rock Band (there's like an adapter hub thing). Guitar Hero's nothing special... I think Rock Band is something no one can get bored of easily. My girlfriend comes over and that's all she does (I like have to convince her that making out is more fun than playing drums (she's damn good at both of them too...)). Ajapi
Rock Band does look more enticing, but then I thought I'd check with you guys anyways. I read you can purchase more songs online to expand on the game's somewhat limited tracklist. Does anyone know which songs are available for download? We're pretty much set on Rock Band over Guitar Hero, but if anyone disagrees, I'd love to hear why. ** From Gamespot: "On the flip side, PS3 owners don't get a USB hub to connect all the instruments to, whereas 360 owners do. That shouldn't be an issue if you have an older PS3, but if you have a newer one with the two USB ports, you'll need to buy one of those hubs separately." Can anyone confirm this? :/ Edited January 12, 2008 by Ajapi
TDQuiksilver
Don't forget to throw a few PSN games in there. Especially High Velocity Bowling. Gangsta
That wasn't what needed to be confirmed, I don't think. I can't confirm that, as I don't have a PS3 anyways. But if you do have an older one, you're fine. If not, you can get a 4-port one here for ten green. Yes, the online song purchasing is good, and awesome. I can't attest to what songs are available on PSN though.

Ajapi
Rock Band seems like the natural choice. I was disappointed by the silly move they made by not including a USB hub for the Playstation 3 version as well :/ Given the steep price tag, it seems like a bad decision, given the fact that the 40GB model (maybe the old 20GB as well?) only comes with 2 USB ports. A game worth three times as much as a "regular" game, it ought to be more considerate of its customers. /rant That said, we'll probably purchase it anyways :p
