Hey

When I search for games on LAN (C.S) it never finds anything. It perfectly finds internet games. There is AVG firewall installed.

Local

You will ONLY find LAN games if you have someone on your NETWORK that has the game, an example would be four computers that is inside your house connected to a router.

I just gave you the meaning with an example...

Just think of it as this

Internet = World

LAN = People with their own computer in your house

Type this in console without the quotation marks when you make a server for LAN: "SV_Lan 1"

then try again.

Before making a server or afterwards?

If you know where is server.cfg is for your dedicated server(LAN) open it up with Notepad and type this in: "Sv_Lan 1" then save it. If not then you can do it afterwards by going to console and typing it also.

I made the server and then wrote"SV_Lan 1" in the console, and tried to connect with the other computer, didnt connect

Sometimes I have this problem too...

How I work around is by going into the console (on the client that's trying to connect to the server), and type in "connect xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx" (replace the x's with the IP of the server) and hit enter.

If this still doesn't work, then I would try disabling firewalls to see if that's the issue. If it works, then re-enable your firewall, and make a special allow for CS.

Hope this helps.

I have been snooping around the firewall and it seem that it is blocking all conectnion from the port UDP in and out...

i figure it must be related to the game as the log i saw seems to sorepond to the time when i try connecting from other computers

what to do??? I use AVG firewall
