randomnut
Hey, So I just got a new 40gb ps3 and so far it's looking pretty good. I have a few questions though: 1. Is it possible to download while watching a movie? I was just watching a DVD then noticed the demos had not progressed....? 2. How long does it take a controller to fully charge? 3.I have a samsung m86 1080p HDTV, can I assume cross colour reduction filter should be OFF, RGB Full Range should be ON, Super White HDMI should be ON? 4. Do you have to do anything special to get divx files to show up to play? (I've downloaded the latest system update). I plugged in the USB stick, went to video, then to USB and it said no files were there. The files show up on the 360 to play however. EDIT: Nevermind, found I had to go to 'show all'. Many thanks, i'm sure i'll have some more as time goes on.

Keito
Hey, So I just got a new 40gb ps3 and so far it's looking pretty good. I have a few questions though:Good for you :) Welcome to the club! Check out all the topics here for more info.1. Is it possible to download while watching a movie? I was just watching a DVD then noticed the demos had not progressed....?Yes. Your background downloads will continue when you are doing "nothing" on the internet, i.e. watching a movie - they will auto-pause when you're going to game online and auto-resume when you're done.2. How long does it take a controller to fully charge?I can't really say, but it's not that long. From the top of my head; aprox. an hour or so? But don't pin me down on that...3.I have a samsung m86 1080p HDTV, can I assume cross colour reduction filter should be OFF, RGB Full Range should be ON, Super White HDMI should be ON?Yes4. Do you have to do anything special to get divx files to show up to play? (I've downloaded the latest system update). The files show up on the 360 to play however.Try pressing the triangle button and select the mode that lets you view all files, for them to automagically pop up in the right folder they need to be in a specific order, which I find a hassle - just as this Triangle solution btw :pMany thanks, i'm sure i'll have some more as time goes on.No problem ^^

randomnut
Thanks. With Folding@home, is there a way to set it to run in the background when you're at the dashboard or run as a screensaver like on the PC? Do you specifically need to load the program yourself to run it?
+Audioboxer Subscriber² Posted January 18, 2008 Subscriber² Share Posted January 18, 2008 I just spent a good portion of today researching "RGB full" http://www.neogaf.com/forum/showthread.php?t=228406 Read that topic. Basically if your HDTV set doesn't support full RGB, it will screw up your blacks and in places where there should be shadows/detail it will just be solid black. While it looks "better" on if you're failing the tests in the topic above, id leave it as limited and just use your TV options to calibrate better blacks. Its an option for monitors, that works on some HDTVs. Thanks. With Folding@home, is there a way to set it to run in the background when you're at the dashboard or run as a screensaver like on the PC? Do you specifically need to load the program yourself to run it? Yes push triangle whilst hovering over F@H and there is a screensaver option - Do nothin on the PS3 for the set time (5/10/15min) and it will kick in itself. As for number 1, I watch movies off my hard drive and as far as im aware downloading continues!
