Piggy
heh I couldn't really wait until Little Big Planet came out. Anyway, I got the 80 GB PS3 and it came with Motorstorm. Uncharted / Ratchet were sold out so I got the Simpsons game until I can get the other two online. Now other than the two I mentioned above, what do you guys recommend? I like the Final Fantasy stuff, so I'm trying to find FFX for PS2. Anything else guys? I'm still learning how to use it. I had to google how to switch it off and eject a disc. Oh I have a crappy SD TV so, I'm trying to connect it to my 24" LCD and see it working as it should. Neo003
Ninja Gaiden, Resistance fall of men.... there are only few but really good ones. Also ratchet and clanks is a must play game (so is ninja Gaiden).
DPyro
OMG I recommend you return that Simpsons game and get Uncharted, Ratchet & Clank, UT3, Warhawk or Heavenly Sword.
pandaman
Assasin's Creed is cool too, Devil May Cry, hell even Call of Duty 4 if your feeling lucky, well do ya punk?
Olemus
The simpsons game had me laughing all the way through and i would actually say its a brilliant game, definitly one ill remember. Much more fun in co-op though i have to admit. I disliked assasins creed but call of duty 4 and heavenly sword were also at the top of my list. Piggy
I connect with HDMI to my LCD and it works at 1080p just fine. I'm more comfortable on the couch though with the regular tv. The difference is not as bad as I had thought. Optical connection for the Audio. Do the demos not run at 1080p? I didn't see any difference in the NFS demo on regular tv or the LCD. sn00pie
Uncharted > Call of Duty After playing and owning both I must say Uncharted is a much better game, it's actually quite difficult and involves you to use your mind to figure out what to do next. COD4 is a pretty simple amazing, its fun but the fun ends quickly because the game is damn short. Ninja Gaiden is good, but very reptitive, after about the 12th level I was bored ****less. Ratchet & Clank is really great too. Some demos are 1080p some are not, I know Virtua Tennis is in 1080p, most aren't though. They're usually 720p. Piggy
Guys I also want to get Final Fantasy IX and XII.. first is PS1 and second is PS2. What kind of memory card do I need? is the 8 meg one here enough? http://www.amazon.ca/Sony-Playstation-Memo...5706&sr=1-
KC
Do you even need a memory card? I think you would need to adaptor to use it anyways. The only real reason I know you would need one is if you had a ps1 or ps2 games prior and already had saved games you wanted to transfer. Someone please correct me if I am wrong. Piggy
I have no idea. I've never had a PS1 or 2. I'm not sure if the card is required to play the old games on a PS3.
Novaoblivion
I dont think you need to get a memory card, if memory serves me right you can create a virtual memory card by going to Games/ Memory Card Utility (PS/PS2) in the XMB. Edit: I have been wanting to get Final Fantasy IX too do you know a good place?

sn00pie
No, you do not need a memory card to play PS1/PS2 games or save them. You can create as many "virtual" ones on your PS3 HDD as you want.

Budious
I also just got my PS3 80GB system on Thursday... loving it so far. I picked up the BR remote control, an extra wireless controller, and an assortment of games: Ratchet and Clank; Soldier of Fortune; Resistance: Fall of Man; SKATE; DiRT; Assassin's Creed; and Motorstorm. I did discover however, that the PS3 wireless does not play friendly with my Linksys WRT54GS v7 router, and constantly causes it to reboot. I found a workaround to disable UPnP in the management console but I'd prefer a proper fix or router. Anyone know a list of compatible, or incompatible models, that I should consider to purchase? What kind of memory card do I need? is the 8 meg one here enough?http://www.amazon.ca/Sony-Playstation-Memo...5706&sr=1-1 You only need the memory card adapter if you have already got saved games on a PS1 or PS2 memory card if not just create a virtual one using the memory card utility under the game option. You will need to create a PS1 memory card and a PS2 memory card using this to be able to save your game. I've currently got 8 virtual PS2 and 1 PS1 memory cards. I would recommend getting Assassins Creed and Call of Duty
Konstanov
As a future warning, only buy Ninja Gaiden Sigma if you feel like buying 3 or 4 controllers over the course of trying to beat that damn game.
Piggy
Ok guys thanks for the help. For now I ordered: Uncharted drake's fortune Assassin's creed Ratchet and clank This should keep me busy. I'm having a hell of a time figuring out how to aim with the PS3 controller, since I'm so used to the PC. I guess it will get easier with practice. :D
KC
You got to get Warhawk. It's amazing; honestly I hardly play any other of my games. Assassins Creed gets old really fast, so fast that I played it for two days and completed 2-3 missions and had had enough. I traded it the other day for Uncharted which is great.
